TOP TOOLS 2008
Anne Paterson

Anne Paterson is a Learning Design Officer for the Centre for Learning Innovation Department of Education and Training NSW Australia.

Anne's Top 10 Tools as at 15 January 2008

  1. Blogger - I have found blogger.com the most intuitive site for learners setting up a new blog, especially the new version.

  2. Delicious - Cannot imagine living or working without delicious anymore, ideal for classes building and sharing research and items of interest

  3. Google Reader - Efficient to have this reader coming up on my google home page to be checked regularly

  4. Skype - Again, couldn’t imagine living without Skype for connections far and wide and for easy access to my widespread network of colleagues

  5. Wikispaces - The easiest of the wikis for students learning how to build information collaboratively. Works well in class environments

  6. Second Life - Second Life is really becoming an extension of what we do in our first life, including learning

  7. Twitter - Good for instant connection and sharing. Prefer to get announcements, opinions or interesting links, rather than the answer to what are you doing that is requested.

  8. Moodle - Ideal for structured communications and a central platform for a community e.g My.edu.au

  9. Slideshare - Other educators have provided excellent resources from Slideshare and slidecast, and I have been inspired to use it too!

  10. Photostory - Easy to use for digital story telling, powerful tool for learners to express themselves with. Also like Animoto for this purpose
