The Google Jockey

When I first saw 7 Things You Should Know About Google Jockeying mentioned, I didn’t really pay much attention, but a couple of blog postings by others, including Stephen Downes, made me look closer.

Then yesterday (May 19), I read this article by Robin Good, Internet Searching Graduates To Classroom Lecturing Assistant: The Google Jockey which explains the idea more fully.

"A Google jockey is a participant in a presentation or class session who surfs the Internet for terms, ideas, or Web sites mentioned by the presenter or related to the topic at hand. A screen displays the jockey’s searches for all participants to see."

It’s a great idea.
